  • John D. Agee

    John D. Agee was born in Livingston, Tennessee in 1963. He attended Roane County High School in Kingston, where teachers, classmates, and family inspired him to pursue a college education and, ultimately, a career in the legal profession. After high school, Mr. Agee matriculated to Princeton University with the benefit of financial aid through the Class of 1925 Memorial Scholarship and received his A.B. in history in 1986 cum laude.

    While in college, he pursued independent research and writing on the history of the early Christian Church, participated in the Freshman and Varsity Football Teams, and was President of the Princeton Elm Club.

    Mr. Agee attended law school at Tulane and received his J.D. in 1989. During law school, he clerked for Administrative Law Judges in Washington D.C. and at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and acquired knowledge and training in administrative law. Following law school, he returned to East Tennessee. He became a partner in a general civil litigation practice in Roane County, focusing on problems and issues concerning sick and disabled workers. During his career, he pioneered compensation claims for plant workers at the U.S.D.O.L. facilities through the U.S. Department of Labor and the State of Tennessee laws. He is admitted to practice in all State Courts, the U.S. District Court for East Tennessee, the United States 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

    In 2005, Mr. Agee became a law partner with J. Timothy Bobo at Ridenour & Ridenour, and the two have expanded the Firm to include an additional location in Kingston at the City Park. His practice areas include general civil litigation, personal injury, Social Security disability law, workers’ compensation, and U.S. Department of Labor Sick Workers Claims. He has tried cases in State Courts and before Federal agencies during his career.

    Mr. Agee lives on a farm in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, with his six children and wife, Lea Ellen Ridenour Agee.



  • Tim Bobo

    James Timothy Bobo was born in Fayette, Alabama, in 1969. He attended Carson-Newman College (now Carson-Newman University), receiving his B.S. in Economics in 1992. He graduated Cum Laude, and he was the top graduate in the Economics department. He was also a member of the varsity football teams that won National Championships in 1988 and 1989. Mr. Bobo received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1995.

    While in law school, he was selected to write for the Tennessee Law Review. After graduation from law school, Mr. Bobo began private practice in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 1997, he became a licensed sports agent by the National Football League. Before joining Ridenour & Ridenour, he was a partner at a regional law firm specializing in all aspects of employment law. In 2002, he joined Ridenour and Ridenour in the Clinton, Tennessee office. Since 2006, he and John Agee have been the managing partners at Ridenour & Ridenour.

    Mr. Bobo is an experienced trial lawyer in jury and non-jury cases of most types, emphasizing workers’ compensation, personal injury, employment law, automobile accidents, product liability, and nursing home neglect. He is a member of the Knoxville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations.

    Mr. Bobo is admitted to practice before the following courts: the Supreme Court of the United States of America, the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court-Eastern District of Tennessee, the Tennessee Supreme Court, Tennessee Court of Appeals, and all Tennessee trial courts.

    Mr. Bobo frequently handles complex lawsuits. He has successfully obtained settlements and jury verdicts for his clients that exceed ten million dollars.

    I grew up in Kingston, Tennessee. After graduating from Roane County High School in 1988, I attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. During my undergraduate studies, I studied abroad for six months at The University of Swansea in Wales, United Kingdom. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa and cum laude in 1992.   The following year, I began my studies in law at The University of Memphis and graduated with my juris doctorate in 1996.

    At graduation, I was honored with the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Professional Responsibility and Appellate Practice. I was an Articles Editor for The University of Memphis Law Review during my law school career. I became a published author in Torts-Ridings v. Ralph M. Parsons Co.: The Tennessee Supreme Court Rejects Use of Employer Negligence to Reduce Liability of Defendants in Post-McIntyre On-The-Job Tort Cases, 26 UMPSLR 1533, Summer 1996.

    Following law school, I began practicing law in Memphis, Tennessee, and continued to practice in that city until April 2008, when I moved back to East Tennessee. During the years I lived and practiced in Memphis, I was President of The Memphis Bar Association Family Law Section. I participated in the Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inn of Court. I also obtained my certification as a Rule 31 Listed Family Law Mediator.

    I have practiced with the Ridenour & Ridenour Law Firm since April 2008. Today, my primary area of practice is in domestic relations/family law. I also have a thriving family mediation service and am a member of the Roane County and Anderson County Bar Associations.

    Outside my practice, I enjoy participating in church and mission work, reading and writing, traveling within and outside the United States, and gardening and home remodeling.
